Marketing on the web can take many forms. With pay per click you can start a campaign almost instantly and drive real visitors to your site. The downside is you must really know your keywords and the competitive landscape for your industry. Being too broad can bring lots of visitors but no real results. Also know how to measure results. Just think about what you are trying to accomplish with your site. Are you selling a product or service? If so then results are sales. Very few website owners build sites strictly to entertain their visitors. Getting the desired results or action from users is called a conversion. So how much is a "conversion" worth? Only you can answer that question. Would you pay $1 for a sale that nets $10 profit? (probably) How about $9 for a sale that nets a $10 profit? (maybe)….
